Digital Two for Tuesday 27

This week our guest designer is Christa AKA Sophia Regina. I gave her a difficult task to design something using these two Santa images. Little did I know that she does not use Santa images but Christa in her kindness did not ask me for new images and created several amazing, creative projects. Here is her bio in her words "I'm a 32-year-old stay-at-home homeschooling mom, as well as a pastor's wife. Before I married, I was also a school teacher and college registrar. I enjoy all kinds of crafts: sewing, crocheting, paper crafting, stamping and scrapbooking. I also love reading, writing, photography and cake decorating." Check out her blog for more details at http://frugalideasfromtheparsonage.blogspot.com/ Ok, so I just realized I forgot to post the images. I am away on business. So I am hoping Sophia will email them to me or post them on her site. Sorry.

Digital Two For Tuesday 26

Wow, I can't believe we are up to 26 weeks. Amazing! It has been so much fun to see what each guest designer does with the vintage images I have been posting. This week's designer Lorraine from the UK certainly has not let us down . She has made us two beautiful holiday cards. I love her use of color and all the wonderful accents. Enjoy more of her work at her blog Coldwaters 2.

Digital Two for Tueday 25

So here are this week's images. I finally found a few Christmas vintage b&w images in some old magazines. So for the next few weeks Christmas will be the theme.
Our guest designer this week is Lisa Cook. She has taken the two images and created a beautiful pop up card. I just love all the little touches she has added and her coloring. Wouldn't you just love to put a card like this on your mantle this Christmas. I can't wait to see what all of you create with these images. So be sure to link back to this post in the comments section. You can see some more of Lisa's fun and original designs at her blog Stamped Art by Lisa.

Digital Two for Tuesday 24

Unfortunately, our guest designer this week had some health issues and had to pass. So I am posting the images this week. I almost didn't post these vintage images as the artist who drew them must not have been comfortable doing hands and they are quite blurry. Especially the one with the typewriter. I tried to photo shop it but I could not get it right either. Anyway, I love the image and thought it could be a good Secretaries Day card. This week the card is by yours truly Cora. I think I let all the elements get away from me but I sure had fun putting them together. I made the card using the teatime image and a rubber stamp from Studio 490. I made the frame using a Martha Stewart around the page border punch set and sewed the paper to the frame. You can see more of my artwork and my addiction for paper punches at my blog Paper Flowers.

Digital Two for Tuesday 23

So here we are at week 23 with two fun images and another amazing designer to showcase. This week our guest designer is Jennifer. I love her use of lace and buttons and all the texture her designs have on them. Here is here bio in her words. "I am a 45 year old married mom of 3 teenage boys. I have been married for 23 years to my college sweetheart, and my family is truly the light of my life! God has blessed me in abundance with them! :) I'm a transplanted Texas girl living in the snowbelt of Ohio. and we love the snow!
I have been papercrafting for about 10 years now. I first started scrapbooking and then was invited to that one notorious rubber stamp party! the rest is history! grins! my style has always revolved around the vintage/shabby chic. and oh my, I have to have my embellies. love love love my ribbons and trims! I have a phenom stash of vintage buttons that I love to use as well. my fave techniques are distressing and aging papers. I also enjoy the cracked glass technique as well as collage backgrounds.

For the football card, I watercolored the image using my inks and watercolor brushes. I then used my ink squirty tool (I can never remember the official term for that thing! grins!!) to help give an older feel to the piece. I took a piece of Making Memories paper and aged it by first crinkling it and then rubbing my ink pad over the top. the edges were torn and inked as well. I added some wonderful embellies from the MM vintage findings line - cloth tag, 'wish' coupon, button tied with twine and then attached to wide grosgrain ribbon, & school paper stapled to corner. the main image was popped up on foam tape for added dimension. the edges of the card base were inked with vanilla craft.

On the brother and me card, I used this beautiful paper by Webster's Pages, Terri Conrad collection. the edges of it were covered in brown glitter glue. The digi image was colored with inks and watercolor brushes. the girl's headband and collar were painted as well with pink shimmerz. this pieces was cut out and popped up on extra thick foam tape for added dimension. I used a wonderful circle paper doilie and velvet ric rack trim from JoAnn's to frame the digi. Vintage buttons from my stash helped to complete the look. A velvet leaf from Prima and velvet flower from Making Memories finish off the card. I kept the sentiment fairly generic so that it could be used for a thinking of you, Mother's Day, card for my hubby to send to one of his sisters, or whatever other occassion might happen to arise in the future!"

Digital Two For Tuesday 22

Well this week's guest designer Debi Nicols is so creative. I just love the two cards she
has created for us with this week's two digital images. She has a wonderful gift for mixing images and papers to create a vintage look. I hope Debi inspires you to take our challenge this week and create something amazing. Don't forget to post it here in the comments section so we all can be inspired by your artwork. Here is Debi's bio in her own words. "I began stamping and making cards about 8 years ago when I discovered that my love of making quilts was beginning to take up too much space in the house! Who am I kidding today. I am sure you have seen that stamp that says "imagine all the money I will save if I make my own greeting cards". I love paper, all aspects of paper. I love sparkles and buttons are my real weakness. Currently I still have yet to begin a blog, but that is because I spend too much time looking at so many, I have no time! I am an avid reader of so many wonderful blogs. On Splitcoast stampers I am 'debiscookin' because cooking and gardening are among my other loves. My gallery is http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=73932. Thanks for looking!"

Digital Two for Tuesday 21

This week I have chosen two fun retro images from the twenties for you to play with. Our amazing designer Darlene has created two cards using them. I love her use of color in her designs and her mixture of papers.

Her first creation (Enjoy the Simple Things in Life) is A-6 in size ... papers used are SU Very Vanilla, Garden Green & Creative Memories Green Gingham. She used a Nestabilities scallop square die to cut the Garden Green panel then outlined the scallops using a Gold Pilot Marker. After coloring my image using Prismacolor markers and Prisma pencils, she layered it in behind the Garden Green panel using dimensional tape to pop up the green panel. Her sentiment is by Hero Arts and after stamping with Versafine black ink and embossing with Detail Clear embossing powder, She cut out the pieces and attached them in random.

Her second creation is also A-6 in size. Papers used are SU Very Vanilla which she has sponged the edges using Ranger Antique Linen distress ink, Garden Green and Daisy D's designer paper. Her image was colored with Prismacolor markers and Prisma pencils. She distressed the edges and added a band of cotton lace ribbon from JoAnn's. The spoon, fork & seasoning can are from a Crafty Secrets set called Kitchen Classics. They were stamped using Versafine black ink ... the seasoning can was also colored using Prismacolor markers and they were all cut out using my Fiskars swivel craft knife. Creative Memories silver and copper pens were used to color in the pot & utensils on the stove.

Digital Two for Tuesday 20

Wow, we are up to 20 and I hope you are enjoying the guest designers interpretation of our digital images each week as much as I am. This week is no exception. We have some amazing cards from Esther. I just love what she has created with these images. Her use of color and texture make her cards really stand out. Here is her bio in her own words. "I'm a wife (for 10 years), mom (for 7 years), and crafter (since I was a kid). I started sewing as a teenager and have made everything from curtains to rag quilts. I've enjoyed cross-stitching and crocheting as well.
About 11 years ago I saw my first scrapbook and knew it was something I wanted to do.
My first attempts are interesting to look back on (so are the supplies that were available "back then"). It wasn't until 4 years ago that I became interested in making cards, and I've been hooked ever since! I think it's my all time favorite "crafty" activity. Not only does it "scratch" my itch to create, but it caters to my impatient nature in letting start and finish a project in one day. I enjoy finding new tools and techniques to use in my "trade," and especially enjoy using the free images Cora gives us every Tuesday. I was particularly thrilled when she ask me to guest design for this week.
For more information on the materials I used in these projects you can visit my blog." http://www.estherscardcreations.blogspot.com/
So here are the two images for this week. I challenge you to create something amazing.

Digital Two For Tuesday 19

Another week has gone by and we have two more vintage images. I hope you have been enjoying the journey our guest designers take us on each week. I know I am. Our amazing guest designer this week is Diane and she has created two exciting projects for use to enjoy. I just love what she has done with these two unique images. Here is her bio: "Hi, I'm Diane and I live in Broken Arrow, OK which is basically Tulsa. I am SAHM married to Eric for over 11 years and have 2 children. My daughter Kaitlyn is almost 9 years old and has Down syndrome. I also have a son Austin who is 6. I love to shop - especially bargain shopping, travel and organizing just about anything. Over the past 20 years I have taken classes in cake decorating, flower arranging, interior design and scrapbooking. I teach classes at a local scrapbook store in the area which I really enjoy. Just about 2 years ago I got into stamps and card making and fell in love with it. Doing altered art is always so much fun too. I started a blog last year called Princess Scrap Girl so I could share my art with others who appreciate the process and also to connect with others who love it as much as I do. I am currently on two design teams. One is Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturday challenge blog and the other is Digital-Ink Co. store and challenge blog. " I hope you will stop by Diane's blog Princess Scrap Girl to see more of her talented work.

Digital Two For Tuesday 18

Here are two new images for this week. These are both originally from an old advertising booklet from the late 1800's. The second image of the bottles is small and better used for accents and inchies. This weeks's guest artist is Cathryn. I love Cathryn's sense of style, her use of papers and her beautiful coloring. I know you are going to love her work as well. One of the things I love the most about have guest designers is seeing how different people use the images. I hope you will be inspired by these awesome projects. Here is Cathryn's Bio: "I live in Omaha, NE with my husband, with whom I just celebrated my 39th Anniversary. We have 4 adult children, 3 crafty girls and a son who works construction. We have 12 grandchildren ranging in age from 16 to 2 mo with #13 arriving in Feb.

I have always loved are and crafty things. I have done Tole Painting, I have sewn all my life. I made rag quilts and then I found rubber stamping!

I went to a Stampin Up party that my daughter had and I was hooked. I became a SU demonstrator but life got in the way of building it as a business and after being my own best customer and discovering there were tons of other Rubber stamp companies out there I just went with what I liked.

I would consider my style for Vintage stamps or images as modern vintage where I love the images but I love to color them with copics and use distress inks and sponging to create the vintage effect.

Fact is, I love to color, My motto is: You never outgrow your need to Color! That's my story and I'm stickin to it!!! I think of my coloring as an art form and it makes me feel good. I get really grumpy when I don't get to color for a few days. Does that make me addicted? Maybe, but it gives me a real sense of accomplishment when i look at a card I have created and say " I really like the way that turned out".

Copics is my weapon of choice. I am copic certified to teach but there isn't really any place in Omaha to teach and I stay busy with my full time job and my 4 DT's. I hope that you like my samples. Cora chooses wonderful images for us each week.

I was thrilled when Cora asked me to be a Guest Designer and it has been so much fun to get to play with these images first :).

I hope that you play along with us and I look forward to seeing what you create!!!"

Digital Two For Tuesday 17

So have you taken the challenge? Every week I try to post two images that get your creativity flowing in hopes of seeing some amazing designs. I love to see how many ways an image can be used. This week I have a few images for those of you requesting images for all the men in your life. Our guest hostess Cheryl has certainly taken the challenge. When I first sent her these images I know she was thinking what did I get myself into but Cheryl is a wonderful and creative artist whose work never ceases to surprise and intrique me. So I was glad she accepted the challenge. Here is Cheryl's bio in her words. " I have been crafting for about 2 years, but started to really get into when I became a member of Trimmcraft, and was made ATC maker of the year after only being on there 3months. Then a friend Jude asked me to become one of her design team members, which I jumped at the chance. Then after that I got my own blog and have never looked back.
I am now a DT member for
http://dezinaworld.blogspot.com/
http://creativeinspirationschallenge.blogspot.com/ and just recently
http://sophisticatchallenges.blogspot.com/
I have also been published in an American magazine called craft Uk the lady saw my work on my blog and contacted me,and had one of my cards published last month. When Cora asked me to be one of her Guest designers,I jumped at the chance as by finding the blog through a friend, have not looked back since, and have tried to join in each week. Having never used digital images before to create cards with found it really exciting and also a great challenge which i love.
Stamping is my first love followed by Atc's and altered art, adore old images, and vintage. I never thought I would be able to craft as getting into it through watching QVC and through illness,it has opened up a fantastic world of many blogging friends and such talented and kind people, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of them.
Hope you like what I have created with the images
love Cheryl xx"
